Under the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by our Honourable Prime Minister, the central government is going to launch a mobile toilet locator to locate the nearby toilet in case anyone needs to use one. It will be officially launched on 2nd October 2017.
The Central government has selected Lucknow out of 85 cities in the country for launching this mobile toilet locator. This project is an initiative under Swachh Bharat Mission and it will sync all the toilets on your google map and this is not it, map will also show you the locations of railway stations, bus stands, malls and petrol pumps. It will be available in two languages Hindi and English. In case of toilets, people can give their feedbacks about how was their experience while locating the toilet or if the toilets were clean enough to use. It has already started in few cities of Madhya Pradesh and NCR’s on a trial basis.
The Environmental Engineer, Mr. Pankaj Bhushan said, “The Project is referred to as Mission Toilet Locator and it will come into use from 2nd Of October. All the new toilet compounds built or in building, stage will be synced with the map. Open defecation is a serious concern in India risking the health and life of many individuals and is a threat to the environment too. Though in cities, there are still public toilets which one could use, it is painful to look out for a public toilet and that is where the concept of navigating a toilet came into the frame.
According to sources, Google India has signed a deal with Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) for helping people to locate a toilet nearby.
As per the plan, the app will flourish itself in the northern region of India and will take over the entire country in a short period of time. By the end of November, the app will be available in NCR.
